Andy Wiseman is an independently published author born and raised in Lincolnshire, UK.
Andy began working in construction at sixteen, a job which eventually took him to London a few years later. When construction work was scarce, he also worked other jobs; a hotel breakfast cook was one, an agency worker another. And while the agency work was low-paid and the variety of jobs wide - hospital porter, handyman, multi-drop delivery driver, domestic supervisor, and a studio assistant at Abbey Road Studios, to name but a few - it was a great experience. For a brief time, he also trained as an actor, until family commitments brought him back to Lincolnshire, where he met his now-partner, Sue, and settled down in a small village, adopting rescue cats. For a while, Andy worked as a Technical Officer for a local authority, helping to provide funding and facilities for disabled people, then part-time as a property inspector for a lettings agency before returning to construction.
Since he was a boy, Andy has harboured the desire to be an author, occasionally dabbling but never really committing. Maybe due to a lack of confidence. Because back then, and where he was brought up, being an author wasn't considered a "proper job". In the mid-nineties, he wrote a film script which Miramax Films said had promise but needed work - it's been in a box gathering dust ever since. In 2010, he decided that if he was going to be an author, he'd better get on with it because he wasn't getting any younger. And if life experience was a measure of self-belief and the ability to write, now was the time.
After six years of writing, rewriting, and learning how to write a book, Andy finally produced Harry's Justice, a crime thriller, which he then submitted to several literary agents seeking representation. Sadly, it wasn't to be. So, not wanting to waste six years of hard work, he self-published Harry's Justice, which has received great reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Three years after that came the sequel, Harry's Revenge, also self-published and which received even better reviews.
Latest News & Updates
February 12th 2026
Three years after self-publishing Harry's Revenge and putting its sequel, Harry's Honour, on hold, Andy has written his third book, The Lives and Soul of Oak Tree Farm, a work of literary fiction and a very different read from his first two books. It is currently with literary agents in the hope of gaining representation and the advantages traditional publishing has over self-publishing. Time will tell.
